"I'm the Decider"

Well, it took me awhile, but I finally realized what "I'm the decider" reminds me of. It sounds like something a character in a Dr. Seuss book might say.
So with apologies to the late Mr. Geisel, here is some idle speculation as to what else such a character might say:
I'm the decider.
I pick and I choose.
I pick among whats.
And choose among whos.
And as I decide
Each particular day
The things I decide on
All turn out that way.

The less that they teach
And the more that they test.

You need to get by
Are much better spent
On some CEO guy.
I decided your Wade
Which was versing your Roe
Is terribly awful
And just has to go.
I decided that levees
Are not really needed.
Now when hurricanes come
They can come unimpeded.
That old Constitution?
Well, I have decided
As"just goddam paper"
It should be derided.
I've decided gay marriage
Is icky and weird.
Above all other things,
It's the one to be feared.
And Cheney and Rummy
And Condi all know
That I'm the Decider -
They tell me it's so.
I'm the Decider
So watch what you say
Or I may decide
To have you whisked away.
Or I'll tap your phones.
Your e-mail I'll read.
`cause I'm the Decider -
Like Jesus decreed.
Yes, I'm the Decider
The finest alive
And I'm nuking Iran.
Now watch this drive!

are you allowed to be your first comment to your own blog? well either way. I find it appalling that so many people don't understand what our president is doing to our country and our people. There are people who are finding creative and eye opening ways to express the absuditiy of Bush's presidency but is it that people don't listen? Pay attention? Care? Or is it that so many people are really so small minded that all they care about are gay marriage = Bad, and abortion = bad. Why are we not worrying about greater issues. Equality. We have an ever increasing gap economically and educationally between the white majority and all minorities. We are living in a time where people in Omaha, Nebraska are happily jaunting back to the 60's and before, with their new attempt at segregation. You have the school board in a civil war between conservative christian parents screaming that religion be taught in school. That evolution, with all of its scientific support, is still a theory and that god should be taught as the creator. Now, i'm all for a person learning about the possibility that God is the creator of man, and all things I guess, but that needs to be taken care of in a religion class, NOT in a biology class. How do you think the christian right would react if we demanded that in school children are taught that God didn't create man, but instead that man created God. I think this could fall swimmingly into a government class. Man created God to help create order. Give someone a reason to behave well, and they most likely will. It's like a child coloring (stay with me). If man created a guideline that is God and that is the basic drawing, most people will stay within the lines when they color it in. There will be some people who go outside the lines, but most likely it won't be out much. And then ocassionally you'll have people who go way outside the lines. if this is the case, what peacekeeper wouldn't want to have this. But, whatever, do we think that this theory could be taught in our classes throughout the country. I highly doubt it. I have to stop now, i'm working and must go, but there is much more to say. But lets look at our priorities, look at what is happening to our world, not just our country, and think about how much we are all divided, and then think of a way to change it.
